Hey there! I’m Courtney, the owner of Goddess Prana Doula. Here are some things to help you get to know me better!
Family life
My husband and I got married January 1st 2020, had our first son July 2020, and had our twins Sept 2021. We live in Fort Saskatchewan with our kids, two cats, and our new puppy!
Hobbies
I have always loved to read and paint, though now at this point of my life I have taken on a new hobby, as I am co-writing a novel with my husband
Everyone deserves a labor doula!
“Doulas remind us that we are not alone, that we are strong, and that we are capable of birthing our babies with love and support.”

“I had amazing doulas for my first birth and all I want, is to give every woman the care and empowerment my doulas gave me. That experience has shaped me and my way of thinking dramatically.”

Why I become a Doula
I always knew my purpose in life was going to be a mom. I remember as a student in highschool thinking about all of the career options I could choose from and then thinking how all of them would interrupt my plans of having and raising my children. Because of this I never really chose an occupation, nothing really fit me. In my mind, I was meant to be a wife and a mother and that was good enough for me. Which it still is, however, when I think about my kids getting older and claiming their independance, it makes me think. Why is ‘my purpose’ only limited to my kids? I’m meant to serve, meant to support people, so why not help women through these important life journeys?
I’m also a very empathic person, supporting people through life experiences can be challenging because of it, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to be there for people during those times. I think it gives me an advantage actually. Going through the birth experiences I have been through, also places me at an advantage. Through my struggles I can help more women with different journeys. I have a passion for sharing information about the options women have during childbirth. I have a passion for helping them reach their goals and birth visions, empowering them to make informed decisions about their birth and breastfeeding journeys.
The female body is AMAZING! All my life, women around me complained about being a women, about all the things us women have to go through and indure. But through my eyes, I see we are blessed. Giving birth is a rite of passage I honor and cherish everyday. Every woman is a superhero! The incredible things our bodies can do, astounds me every day. You are all Goddessess! And should be treated like it!
